Two people were taken to hospital after a four-car collision along Airport Boulevard towards Changi Airport on Nov 2 left several vehicles badly damaged.

The accident occurred at around 9.05pm near the airport.

A video shared on TikTok by user @fyidlymo showed the aftermath of the crash, with several cars looking wrecked and debris scattered across the road.

The frontmost black car appeared almost completely crushed at the rear, while a white car at the back had its front end mangled.

An SUV in between appeared to have been rear-ended and spun sideways before coming to a stop.

Two taken to hospital

Eyewitness Mr Tan, a 49-year-old construction project manager, told Shin Min Daily News that he was driving to the airport to pick up a friend when he heard two loud bangs.

Shin Min reported that the black car was believed to have been hit by the white car while it was changing lanes. The impact caused the white car to rear-end the SUV, sending it spinning out of control.

A video taken by Mr Tan showed a Caucasian woman emerging from the black car, holding her head but appearing uninjured.

He added that a male passenger in the back seat of the black car seemed to have sustained a forehead injury and was bleeding. "Their luggage was also crushed. I think they were heading to the airport," he said.

Mr Tan said police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) had not yet arrived, and several drivers stopped to render assistance.

In response to queries from Stomp, the police and SCDF confirmed the accident. Police said a 57-year-old male driver and a 30-year-old male passenger were taken to hospital conscious. Investigations are ongoing.

The accident caused significant congestion along the road. Mr Tan said traffic slowed to a crawl after the crash, and within 10 minutes, a long line of cars had formed.
