Fire breaks out in River Valley; children seen sitting on ledge
In a video shared on Facebook on April 8, black smoke can be seen coming out of a building and children sitting on the building ledge as they wait to be rescued.
The front of the building has a signboard bearing the name OMG – Orange Mood Group.
Orange Mood Group is listed as an education centre at River Valley Road.
A few people wearing high-visibility vests can be seen on a scaffolding and reaching out to help the group sitting on a ledge outside the third-storey windows.
The group of people on the ledge appear to be children.
According the Singapore Civil Defence Force, they were alerted to a fire at 278 River Valley Road at about 9.45am on April 8.
"Upon arrival, the fire was raging on the second and third storeys of a three-storey shophouse," SCDF wrote in its Facebook post.
Four adults and 15 children were taken to hospital and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
