A motorcyclist was struck by a durian seed while parking his bike at an open-air carpark in Jurong, leaving the fruit smeared on his clothes and motorcycle.

In response to queries from Stomp, the motorcyclist said the incident occurred around 8.30pm on Nov 4, as he was returning home from work.

He had just parked his vehicle and was preparing to get off the bike when he heard a loud thud.

"At first, I was in shock trying to process what just happened - then the smell hit me, and I realised someone had thrown an actual durian, with the seed still inside, from above," he told Stomp.

The man said he did not see the culprit and was afraid to keep looking up in case another seed fell.

"It's funny now, but at that moment, it was quite scary. This could have seriously injured someone," he reflected.

The motorcyclist shared photos of the incident on his TikTok account @SGBikeDaddy, which shows the durian flesh splattered on his black shorts, and smeared into the grooves of his bike.

The text in the photos reads: "This part is the hardest to clean!" and "Then my pants how?"

He writes in the caption: "Man taken out by durian - bike suffers trauma, rider left emotionally hungry."

The motorcyclist said cleaning the motorcycle cost nearly $100, as the fruit had lodged in the crevices of the bike's buttons.

At press time, the TikTok post had garnered over 47,100 views and 1,000 likes, with netizens expressing amusement at the unusual mishap.
