A 76-year-old man was taken unconscious to hospital after his car crashed into a wall at Anderson Secondary School on the afternoon of May 3.

The police said they were alerted to the accident at the pick-up point of a polling station at the school in Ang Mo Kio at 3.25pm. They do not suspect foul play.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the man was taking over the car from his daughter, when it surged forward and crashed into the wall.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said he was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

Three other people were assessed for minor injuries but they declined to be taken to the hospital.

In a video posted on the SGRV Facebook group, a man dressed in black can be seen getting into the driver's seat of a stationary car, when it suddenly accelerates while half his body is still outside the vehicle.

He is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
