SCDF ambulance transporting patient mounts kerb in AMK, crew member injured
A crew member sustained a slight ankle sprain when an ambulance mounted a kerb at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5.
The incident occurred at about 4.15pm on Nov 4, while an ambulance was transporting a patient to Sengkang General Hospital.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Stomp that the vehicle mounted a kerb near the slip road to the Central Expressway (CTE).
"The ambulance crew continued to monitor the patient's condition, while another SCDF ambulance was immediately activated to take over the patient's conveyance to the hospital," an SCDF spokesperson said.
The spokesperson added that one of the ambulance crew sustained a slight ankle sprain, with no other injuries reported.
A video of the incident was posted on TikTok by user @allakazoo, garnering over 81,300 views and 1,000 likes.
The 32-second clip shows the ambulance reversing from the kerb, while traffic police guide the vehicle back onto the road.
In the comments, some netizens were concerned for the patient in the ambulance, while others gave the driver the benefit of the doubt.
