A 61-year-old man is helping with police investigations after CCTV footage emerged showing him reversing his car into an elderly woman in a housing estate near Ang Mo Kio.
In response to queries, the police said they were alerted to an accident involving a car and a pedestrian in Jalan Chengam - in Sembawang Hills Estate off Upper Thomson Road - at about 2.30pm.
The 77-year-old woman was conscious when she was taken to hospital. The Singapore Civil Defence Force said she was taken to Woodlands Health Campus.
Footage of the incident was uploaded to the SG Road Vigilante Facebook group on the afternoon of Nov 13.
In the video clip, a man can be seen getting into a white car parked along the road. The clip also had a timestamp, indicating the incident occurred at about 2.27pm the previous day.
The woman was coming out of her landed home and was about to move the rubbish bin when the driver reversed suddenly, at speed, and collided into her.
He then parked his car, got out of it, and walked away from the woman he had just hit.
Police investigations are ongoing.
