6 taken to hospital, 2 injured after lorry skids in Tuas
Six male passengers were taken to hospital while conscious, after an accident involving a lorry on the morning of June 16.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and police said they were alerted to the accident at about 7.20am that day.
The lorry was believed to have skidded near the junction of Tuas South Avenue 5 and Tuas South Avenue 10, heading in the direction of Tuas Crescent MRT station, the authorities added.
In a recording of the accident uploaded to the SGRV Facebook page, a grey lorry can be seen lying on its side just after the junction.
An ambulance is seen parked against the flow of traffic, while SCDF officers are attending to individuals on the pedestrian walkway on the left side of the road.
The six passengers, aged between 36 and 50, were taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, said the authorities.
Two more people were assessed for minor injuries and declined to be taken to hospital.
A 33-year-old male lorry driver is assisting with police investigations.
