Welcome to Stomping Ground - a space where Stompers share reflections, personal essays and social commentaries that spark conversation and insight.

The row of quaint shophouses nestled amongst gleaming skyscrapers makes Emerald Hill Road one of Singapore's most scenic streets.

However, right in the middle of the walkway is a lamppost ruining the view, said Stomper Tan.

He shared a photo taken on Nov 16 at 4.07pm of the lamppost along Orchard Road, in between Sae-Ren Beauty Lounge and Peranakan Place.

Tan told Stomp: "The lamppost is right smack in the centre of this picture-perfect Instagrammable view. I feel that it should not be in between these two buildings."

The Stomper also shared a post showing how the street used to look like – sans lamppost – and its evolution over the years.
