Rained-off Tancred moved to April 1

After the Tancred Stakes meeting at Rosehill on March 29 was rained off, the 10-race card has been moved wholesale to April 1.
Two Group 1 races - the A$1.5 million (S$1.26 million) Group 1 Tancred Stakes (2,400m) and A$750,000 Vinery Stud Stakes (2,000m) - headline the day, which remains the prelude to The Championships, the kick-off point to the second half of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival flowing on from the Golden Slipper Carnival which ended on March 22.
All the big stars like Dubai Honour, Treasurethe Moment, Vauban, Ceolwulf and Duke De Sessa will still be in action.
There will, however, be some riding changes, the most notable being James McDonald having to forfeit his rides, given that he flew out to Dubai on March 31 to ride the world's highest-rated horse Romantic Warrior in the Group 1 Dubai Turf (1,800m) in Meydan on April 5.
Among others, his Tancred booking River Of Stars has now gone to Blake Shinn.
Shinn, who was crowned Sydney champion jockey in the 2007-08 season, has been based in Melbourne since returning in 2022 from a successful three-year Hong Kong stint.
The 37-year-old will attempt to add the Tancred Stakes - which will be run as Race 11 on the Australia (Melbourne) card at 1.40pm Singapore time - to a glittering CV that already includes the Melbourne Cup with Viewed in 2008.
Shinn also replaces McDonald aboard the Kris Lees-trained Brudenell in the Group 3 Star Kingdom Stakes (1,200m), scheduled as Race 9 at 1.05pm, and Peter Snowden's Quietly Arrogant in the Group 3 Baillieu Stakes (1,400m) - which is not featured on the Singapore Pools card.
