Race 1 (1,400m)

7 So Awesome was held up from the 400m to the 200m before closing off nicely into fifth last time. In an open Class 5, he gets his chance.

10 Regency Happy Star should once again fare well, having held his form in a handy easy trial.

1 Perfect Peach returns to Class 5, where he holds a respectable record, as well as stepping out over his preferred track and distance.

6 Windicator Family is unplaced in 17 runs but showed progress on his first run in Class 5, where he beat a wide draw to run fifth.

Race 2 (1,200m)

7 Top Throne seems to be a handy newcomer for David Hayes, having trialled well four times in Hong Kong. Promising sort.

4 Autumn Vibes was slow to begin on debut, which cost him the win. He ran third and can go two places better second-up.

8 Invincible Lucky has often been plagued by wide barriers, yet has been running well from them.

6 Mount Everest is another newcomer who has caught the eye in his work. Can show something.

Race 3 (1,200m)

4 Akashvani has shown promise at the trials. Looks ready to kick off his career on a winning note.

2 Flash Current stormed home from last to score by a head second-up. Go close.

1 Suruga Bay steps out for Mark Newnham. Trials have been encouraging. He can improve.

6 Raging Rapids drew barrier 11 last time, was slow to begin, but closed off well into seventh. Open to further improvement third-up.

Race 4 (1,600m)

5 Lucky Sam Gor, now third-up, looks ready to fire after two very encouraging runs over 1,400m. The mile is right up his alley.

2 Flying Luck has not had much go his way, even if his form remains solid. Back from a 49-day break, he can score.

3 Beauty Live is first-up for his second try back in Class 4. He has trialled well since his last run.

11 Kingly Demeanor will be hard to peg back if he gets a soft lead.

Race 5 (1,200m)

10 Vulcanus is racing in a rich vein of form despite bad draws. He can go one place better.

5 Looks Outstanding made an encouraging debut. Having trialled well between races, he should be a winning chance.

2 Fortune Warrior won as easily as you like last time on a wet-affected all-weather track. He remains a chance.

12 Hinokami Kagura was a closing third first-up for a new stable. He must be respected.

Race 6 (1,400m)

9 Sunny Q is ready for the rise to 1,400m after solid runs over the unsuitable trips of 1,000m and 1,200m. He is in with a strong winning shot.

2 Etalon Or has been the victim of a horrid run of barrier draws but has still been running well. Should go close.

5 Gallant Epoch led from pillar to post to shed his maiden tag last time. Can be followed up.

7 Wrote A New Page ran on well on debut over 1,200m, suggesting the 1,400m will be right up his alley second-up.

Race 7 (1,200m)

5 Must Go can be followed up on his latest win, having trialled well between runs.

7 Mojave Desert had every chance last time when finishing a length away in third behind Must Go. He still has room for improvement.

3 Mask Rider surprised with a debut win two starts ago but did not back it up last time. Can atone.

4 Victory Moments pulled up as a roarer last start and has since been rested. He has trialled well ahead of his return and has slid down the ratings to a mark where he is capable of rebounding.

Race 8 (1,200m)

1 Invincible Sage gets his opportunity without the likes of Ka Ying Rising, Helios Express, and Howdeepisyourlove. His last start over an unsuitable 1,400m can be overlooked.

3 Magic Control showed another string to his bow when ridden quiet last time. A horse on the up.

2 Lucky With You enjoyed all the favours from barrier No. 1 last time and rebounded in style to return to winning ways.

6 Copartner Prance is a pace influence. Could be sticking on late if the race tempo falls into his favour.

Race 9 (1,400m)

1 The Boom Box aims for four-from-four even at first 1,400m test.

9 Call Me Gorgeous finished close-up in all three runs. Has trialled well and is in with a shout.

11 Armour War Eagle is itching to break through after many placings.

5 Magnificent Nine got his first Hong Kong win last start. Can stay competitive even if risen to Class 3.

Race 10 (1,800m)

10 Markwin drew wide, settled back, and swept wide to finish sixth. It was a much stronger effort than it appears on paper.

13 Lo Rider is knocking on the door and is right in the firing line.

11 Sky Heart is trending upwards. Any ratings points earned could put him in Derby contention.

6 Speed Dragon is a model of consistency and remains a player.

Race 11 (1,600m)

4 Light Years Charm beat a wide draw for a strong win last start.

8 Dragon Joy ran wide without cover last time. Earlier form holds him in good stead.

6 Brilliant Express boasts two impressive wins, and now rises to the mile for the first time.

9 Embraces has drawn out but still ran well. Ran fourth last time.
