(6) CAPTAIN WEST is a lovely looking horse with tons of ability and if he puts his best foot forward, he will go very close to winning.
(1) POWERANDTHEGLORY was caught a long way back from a bad draw, and then stayed on well late last time. He will improve tons from that run.
(2) MAURITIUS KESTREL has never run a bad race. He has run behind some very smart horses and must be respected.
(4) WE HAVE TOUCHDOWN is much better than his recent form. He will appreciate the step-up in trip.

Recent course-and-distance winner (1) JUST VAR remains competitive for victory despite a five-point penalty.
Follow the progress of fellow last-start scorer (4) FUTURENAIRE, who is open to further improvement over this extended trip.
(6) TOKYO MEDAGLIA, another last-start winner, and recent eye-catcher (2) SIGRID SWING, who was a fast-finishing third on the inside track last time, are others with genuine podium ambitions.

(4) GOLDEN ANGEL'S yard has always held this filly in high regard and from a good draw in a weak looking race, she should be right there in the finish.

(5) IM THE BUZZ has dropped in the ratings and has dropped in trip - watch for big improvement.

(1) ARISTOTLE caught the eye when third in the Grade 2 Gauteng Guineas over track and trip and only needs to repeat that performance to resume winning ways.

(5) ONE MORE STAR has the means to get involved.

(2) CHOLLIMA quickened up smartly to win a good race last time. He was penalised six points for that victory, but jockey Ashton Arries knows him well and he could be competitive late.

(6) APACHE SON, (7) TOTAL SURRENDER and (4) STAR COIN are closely matched on the form of a recent meeting but it could pay to side with the latter, who is better off on these revised weights.

(4) FUN ZONE needs a particular ride and if the race works out for her, she could easily trouble them in the finish.
(5) LADY LOOK ALIKE has dropped nicely in the ratings and could be some value in what looks a tough race.
