Race 1 (1,450m)
(7) WHISPERING DEATH stayed on encouragingly when second on debut over a similar trip. Can go one better with that experience to count on.
(2) GOLDEN WARRIOR and (5) MIGHTY EAGLE would have also benefited from pleasing debuts over a shorter distance. This extended trip should unlock improvement from both colts.
Well-bred newcomer (1) CHRONICLE KING is worth a market check on debut.
Race 2 (1,450m)
(2) EMERALD FORGE started odds-on on debut and was unlucky not to score. With this extended trip thought to be more to her liking, she can make amends.
(9) VIPINGO is also expected to confirm the promise of her debut, so could trouble the selection.
(7) SISTER GOLDEN HAIR and (4) MIDNIGHT MIRACLE complete the shortlist.
Race 3 (1,200m)
(10) DESERT CLOUD has filled the runners-up berth in both starts (over 1,000m). She is open to any amount of improvement over the extra 200m.
(1) ESPINOZA (gelded), and (8) RING A LING (excuses last time) have the form and experience to compete for the exotic positions.
Newcomer (7) TWO FOR THE BOYS is a chance, especially if the market speaks in his favour.
Race 4 (1,200m)
Improving (2) TANA MAREE ran a fast-finishing second on this track over 1,000m on her return from a layoff. She would have tightened up and will be hard to beat over this extended trip.
(10) WINDS OF GRACE and (1) GIMME A STORM fit similar profiles. Will not be far off the mark.
Well-bred newcomer (8) HEAVYLIESTHECROWN need not be special to feature prominently either.
Race 5 (1,800m)
(1) ROYAL MIRACLE has benefited from being gelded. Further progress is expected over this trip in his peak outing.
(3) HUEHUETENANGO fits a similar profile and should make his presence felt too.
(13) PASS THE BATON is exposed but has the form and experience to get into the picture.
(12) INSTANT ATTRACTION is most likely to be rewarded for her consistency with a deserved maiden victory.
Race 6 (1,000m)
(6) RONDEBOSCH produced a career-best performance when third in a 1,100m Grade 3 last time. Despite a three-point penalty, he will take some beating.
(1) TAXI TO THE MOON, (4) CHIEFTAIN and last-start winner (3) YAMADORI are distance suited and should also acquit themselves competitively.
Race 7 (2,000m)
(1) DIESEL'S SHADOW won at this level over 1,800m on this track last time. Good value to follow up under a four-point penalty.
(4) DARK SILVER bounced back to form with a game-in-defeat third over track and trip last time. Can play another leading role if he reproduces that form.
(5) HIGH QUEUE and (11) CREPUSCOLO are better at the weights, so should pose more of a threat on these terms.
Race 8 (1,600m)
(8) WHISPERS OF WAR ran second in KZN recently over this distance. He has dropped to a competitive mark in the ratings. More consistent in blinkers.
(6) GUERILLA WARFARE and stablemate (7) AFTER HOURS are hard-knockers with the form and experience at this level to fight out the finish.
Class-dropper (1) SAFE SPACE is another with a legitimate each-way chance.
