Youths have been creating a ruckus at the void deck of Block 667D Jurong West Street 65 "almost every weekend," lamented a resident.

Stomper Z, a father of three, said the noise keeps his family up all night, as the youths are usually there from 10.30pm till the next morning.

"They can be here the whole night, till 5am or 6am," he added.

Z said this has been happening since March 2024 and gets especially unbearable during the school holidays.

He told Stomp on July 20: "I have kids aged seven, five and a newborn. They hardly sleep at night due to these noises.

"I brought up this issue to my MP in March 2024 but there has not been much improvement. Just imagine, during the school holidays in June 2024, I made more than 20 calls to the police."

A photo taken by Z shows the youths occupying at least two tables at the void deck, some with their feet propped up on one table.

Z also shared a video of the youths mock-tussling with one another. Another clip shows a boy lying belly-down on the ground while a girl lay on him.

"I hope Stomp can share my experience to create some awareness," Z said. "Maybe some of my neighbours will get it too."

In response to a Stomp query, West Coast-Jurong West Town Council said it is aware of the issue.

"Several measures have been implemented to deter such behaviour," shared a spokesperson for the town council.

These measures include the installation of advisory signage and materials, as well as efforts to secure common facilities and prevent unauthorised use of amenities.

The spokesperson added: "We are working closely with the Residents' Network (RN) and the Singapore Police Force (SPF) to monitor the situation and address the issues.

"We appreciate the patience and understanding of affected residents as we continue efforts to manage the matter."
