A 35-year-old driver was caught smuggling over 6,800 sachets of chewing tobacco via the Woodlands Checkpoint on Tuesday (June 19).

In a Facebook post titled "You can’t chew on this!", the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said that a vigilant officer had noticed the Malaysian man "appearing nervous and avoiding eye contact" at the checkpoint.

"Sensing something amiss, our officers conducted further checks and found over 6,800 sachets of chewing tobacco hidden in modified compartments of the car," added ICA.
