Yishun resident worried to find items in riser, puzzled by town council's call and angered by their update
A resident was upset to discover personal belongings in a riser at Block 455 Yishun Street 41.
Stomper Disappointed Resident said he found household items such as an air purifier, a vacuum cleaner and empty boxes inside the riser, located outside lift lobby C on the sixth floor.
Noting the fire hazard, he reported the case using the OneService app on May 4, but was further incensed by what happened next.
The Stomper said: "I received a call from someone claiming to be from Nee Soon Town Council. She asked me a few questions such as where is the location, what is inside the riser, and who the items belonged to.
"I was seriously puzzled. What happened to all the information I'd keyed into the OneService app? Couldn't the relevant authority see any details before calling? And does it matter whether I knew who the items belonged to?
"I later received an update through the app that the issue had been resolved on May 6.
"But guess what, I went to the riser on May 8, and the items were still intact and had not been moved a bit. They were still in their original position but yet the update claimed the issue had been resolved.

"Either the person who attended to the site did not do their job or the person handing the case did not follow up and just closed the case on the app.
"I am simply DISAPPOINTED!"
In response to a Stomp query, Nee Soon Town Council said: "Our officer engaged the resident on May 9 to advise him on the appropriate use of common property.
"He was understanding of the situation, and the items were promptly removed on the same day.
"Thank you for bringing this to our attention."
