A resident at Block 132 Yishun Street 11 has had enough of the constant noise disturbances from his neighbour upstairs.

Stomper Remy shared a video capturing the loud knocking sounds coming from the ceiling.

He told Stomp: "For the past six months, my family cannot sleep every night and can't even have a good rest on weekends due to the knocking and dragging from the unit above mine."

Remy said the Housing Board and the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) advised him to make a police report.

His ordeal started right after the family moved into the flat on Dec 30, 2024.

"On the first night of our stay, watching TV, we were distracted by knocking, dragging and machine sound above our unit," recounted the Stomper in his May 1 police report, seen by Stomp.

"The noises lasted for quite some time. So I went up and checked. I saw many men in the unit, all of them are Indian. I asked them about the noise and asked them to lower down the noise. They replied okay.

"After an hour later, the noises started again and I went up again to check. This time round they were very aggressive towards me.

"As I did not want to have any further problems with them I went back home. That night the noise continued till 2am."

He said that since then, he has called the police on a few occasions.

The Stomper also complained to the town council, HDB and MOM, but nothing changed. He said HDB told him the flat was rented to a foreign contract worker.

Remy added: "I believe that they are working at home and there is also a machine in the unit that they operate every day."

He told Stomp: "I've even met an HDB officer about this matter, but things still haven't been resolved, and the knocking and dragging sounds have become more frequent and noisier.

"It's been very stressful for me and my family."
