Woman's body found in Chinatown hotel room: Man went to police station to say he killed his wife
A 41-year-old man will be charged in court for the alleged murder of a 38-year-old woman at a hotel in Chinatown on Oct 24.
The police said that the man had gone to Bukit Merah East Neighbourhood Police Centre at 7.40am on Oct 24 to inform officers that he had killed his wife.
Upon receiving the information, police officers were despatched to Capri by Fraser China Square along South Bridge Road and found the 38-year-old woman lying motionless in a hotel room.
She was subsequently pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.
According to The Straits Times, the couple were married and from Indonesia. The woman was believed to have been stabbed.
The man was arrested and will be charged on Oct 25 with murder. If found guilty, he faces the death penalty.
Police investigations are ongoing.
