A woman felt disturbed by the sight of a man riding an electric bike on the road near a traffic junction at Waterway Point in Punggol.

Stomper Anonymous raised concerns after seeing the e-biker going at fast speeds on May 3, at 9.35pm.

"He stopped at the traffic light for a while, then he rushed off. It's so dangerous, and there is a car on the right moving," she said.

"The guy on the bicycle didn't even check. Luckily, the black car was not fast. If not, really bye bye."

According to the Land Transport Authority, electric bikes, or power-assisted bicycles, are allowed to be used on roads, except for expressways and tunnels.

Nevertheless, the Stomper believes that the use of electric bicycles on the road should not be allowed.

"From what I understand, all riders must register and wear helmets if they are going to ride on the road. This is not the first time we have seen this at Punggol," she explained.

"I hope they don't ride on the road. Seriously, it is dangerous.

"Even my six-year-old kid knows this is dangerous."
