A woman claimed a loanshark runner pretended to be a food delivery man to harass her family because her maid owed money.

Stomper Mary shared a video of a man outside her flat banging on her gate on Aug 18 at 4.50pm.

He was in a plain dark long-sleeve T-shirt, shorts and flip-flops, carrying two plastic bags of possibly food in one hand and holding a phone in the other.

As no one came out of the flat to accept the delivery, the man was there for more than 1½ minutes, which is about the length of the video.

The Stomper explained: "My maid had borrowed from a loan shark. She confided in me that she borrowed $500 initially and had to pay $150 every week. She already paid $1,650."

That would mean the maid had been paying the loan shark for 11 weeks.

"That day, one of them came as a food delivery man and tried to harass my parents by slamming on our door to create fear and intimidate the old people living in the flat," said the Stomper.

Asked why she believed the delivery man was working for the loan shark, she said: "Because earlier, when the loan shark called and demanded payment, I told him I had already sent the maid home.

"So he sent his man to check. Next, he sent me ridiculous messages, saying I was protecting her."

The Stomp shared a screenshot of the WhatsApp messages she received and added that she had made a police report.

In response to a Stomp query, the police confirmed a report was lodged and said they were looking into the matter.
