Woman paid $12 for bracelet from Tada driver selling wife's handmade jewellery in car: Is it a scam?
Was the "handmade jewellery" that a Tada driver was selling in his car really handmade by his wife?
Stomper Danny suspected that it was not.
On Aug 25, Stomp reported that a Tada user paid $12 for a bracelet purportedly made by the driver's wife.
Stomper Christina, who was the passenger, called it a "unique experience" and shared a photo of the jewellery she bought.

Danny saw the photo and told Stomp: "Those bracelets are not handmade by the Tada driver's wife. You can buy them at 'lelong' shop at $4 each or three for $10. It's like a scam."
He shared photos of a big pile of bracelets in square packaging similar to what Christina bought.

When contacted by Stomp, Christina explained that the bracelet she bought is not the same as those in Danny's photos.
"I see my bracelet, it really looks pretty. The $4 ones look too ugly. Quality-wise, I can see a big difference
"The 'lelong' one is called 琉璃珠 (glass beads). Mine is 小米珠 (millet beads)," said Christina, who had checked with the Tada driver's wife.
"She sent me this photo and said it's a different bracelet type. One single piece can take 40 minutes of work."

The driver's wife also sells her jewellery on Shopee under the name Miss DIY. The plethora of items for sale includes keychains and bracelets priced up to $12.90.
Christina said the driver told her that she if she had any issues with her purchase, she can contact his wife and make an exchange.
The Stomper told Stomp that so far, she had no issues.
