Woman injured after getting knocked down by cyclist, who accuses her of damaging $200 helmet
A pedestrian sustained injuries after getting knocked down by a cyclist who was riding on a footpath at at CQ @ Clarke Quay Central.
Stomper E said the incident occurred on April 7, at around 4pm.
She recounted: "I was walking near the fountain when I got hit by this cyclist from my side. I had no time to react and was pushed to the ground.
"This cyclist did not offer a word of apology or concern, and turned aggressive at a bystander who helped me and commented on his errant behaviour.
"When questioned if he should even be cycling here, he replied why not, he has done it for years. The cyclist also refused to admit fault and claimed I had walked into him, resulting in his damaged $200 helmet. He even said he had a concussion - yes, with a $200 helmet.
"I went to the security office to check if cycling is allowed here and the answer is no."
The Stomper visited a doctor and made a police report on the same day.
She shared photos of her injuries, which include abrasions and bruises on her elbow, hip, knee and back. She also suffered neck and lower back strains.
E told Stomp: "I was gonna just walk away because I didn't realise I was bleeding. However, the cyclist's arrogant and rude attitude put me off so I decided to report him.
"I'm okay now, just aching like an old lady."
