A Malaysian woman dressed as a demonic nun for her company's annual dinner has caused a stir on the internet and in real life, including spooking a police officer at a roadblock.
The woman, who identifies herself as Awin on social media platform X, said in a post on Jan 22 that she had dressed up as Valak from The Conjuring Universe for the dinner, and was on her way home when she encountered a roadblock.
With a photo that shows the queue leading up to the roadblock, and a selfie in her Valak get-up, she wrote in Malay: "Help, I don't want to scare the police to death."
She added on X that when it was her turn to be stopped, a police officer was so scared that he started massaging his chest.
"He said: 'You scared me. I really thought you were a ghost'," she wrote on X.
Ms Awin added that she quickly apologised and was told to go on her way.
Her post on X has since received more than two million views and 64,000 likes.
In an interview with Malaysian news portal BuzzKini, Ms Awin said she also spooked two women in a lift at a carpark.
"They almost screamed, but I managed to explain that I was in costume," she said.

She told BuzzKini that she chose the Valak character because she liked the theme, and knew how to do the make-up for the character. She had aimed to win the 500 ringgit (S$154) prize for being the best-dressed person at the dinner, but did not.
Netizens were amused by her story.
One user said: "Maybe this is a way to avoid getting fined. I have to learn make-up like this."
