Woman to be charged with outrage of modesty for molesting another woman at Duxton Hill

Five people are expected to be charged in court on Oct 15 with outrage of modesty in separate cases.

Among them is a lone woman, 31, who allegedly molested another woman, 25, at Duxton Hill on July 11.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of CCTV, the police established the identity of the suspect and arrested her.

The oldest to be charged is a 72-year-old man accused of molesting a 47-year-old woman at Temple Street.

The youngest is a 30-year-old man who allegedly molested a 24-year-old woman at Veerasamy Road on May 17,

Both men were arrested at the scene by police officers who attended to the incidents, as was a 41-year-old man who allegedly molested a 29-year-old woman at Bayfront Avenue.

So was a 47-year-old man accused of molesting a 33-year-old woman at Rochor Canal Road on Aug 4.

The offence of outrage of modesty carries an imprisonment term up to three years, a fine, caning or any combination of such punishments.

The police advised: "Victims of molestation should move away from the perpetrator and call the police immediately when it is safe to do so.

"While ensuring their personal safety, victims should try to note key details such as the perpetrator's physical appearance, clothing, and the time and location of the incident."
