Why can't people throw away their trash properly? Yishun resident calls neighbours 'uncivilised'
A Yishun resident is frustrated with her neighbours who can't seem to dispose of their rubbish properly.
Stomper C shared a photo of the bin hopper so overstuffed with trash that it could not be closed. Other photos show discarded items left on the floor beside the hopper.

"Uncivilised and unhygienic neighbours at Block 453 Yishun Street 41," said the Stomper. "This always happens at least two to three times per week."
She added that she had given feedback to town council about the problem.
In response to a Stomp query, a spokesperson for Nee Soon Town Council said: "Our cleaning staff conducts daily cleaning of the blocks and twice daily cleaning of the ground floor common areas.
"We have also put up educational posters encouraging residents to play their part in keeping shared facilities such as the bin hopper area clean."
It's not just Yishun where people can't throw away their trash properly.
Stomper Paul, who lives in Aljunied, shared photos of a waste bin with piles of discarded items next to it.

"Residents would bring down their rubbish from their homes to dispose in the common area at Block 101 Aljunied Crescent daily," said the Stomper.
"Rodents have been spotted in the rubbish bin area very often."
He added that the town council had been informed.

When contacted by Stomp, a spokesperson for Marine Parade Town Council said it conducts regular cleaning and rubbish disposal of its bins to prevent them from becoming breeding grounds for rodents.
The town council also performs weekly inspections for rat activities and carries out preventive maintenance, such as rat burrow treatments and night attacks to trap and eliminate rodents within the vicinity.
The spokesperson added: "The town council will continue to work closely with our pest control operators to regularly assess the effectiveness of our pest control measures and adjust our strategies accordingly.
"Additionally, the town council will continue to work closely with our conservancy contractors to monitor the area closely and increase our frequency of clearing the bins in this area.
"Rats tend to be attracted to areas where there are available food sources. Hence, we will continue to advise residents to play their part in maintaining the cleanliness and keeping the estate free of potential food sources for rodents by discarding food waste and disposing of litter correctly."
Stomp recently reported rat infestation in Serangoon Central and Tampines GreenGem where the town councils urged residents to ensure that food waste is properly bagged and disposed in the bin chutes or covered bins.
