A man saw a white-crested laughingthrush jumping across the ground at Bukit Batok Central.

Stomper Barney spotted the white and brown-coloured bird on April 27 at 3.30pm.

It was perched on top of a concrete platform.

He also shared a video of the bird leaping forward onto the ground.

Barney said: "I have never seen the bird before.

"I think it is a rare sight to see, though I am not an avid bird watcher."

However, according to the Bird Society of Singapore, the white-crested laughingthrush is a common bird found in Bukit Batok Nature Park.

It is described as "gregarious" and "often noisy when in groups".
