Volunteers hand out free ice cream to devotees and passers-by during Thaipusam festival
Thaipusam is a time of devotion, endurance, and community spirit.
But amid the long procession and scorching heat, a booth at Dhoby Ghaut Green stood out offering a sweet and refreshing treat to participants.
A Stomper, who attended the festival on Feb 12, shared his discovery of a booth that gave out free ice cream cups to devotees and passers-by of all backgrounds.
"There are several booths giving food and drinks but this one was giving out ice cream which was unique," he said.
"It was pretty cool."
He added that it was a welcome respite from the hot weather.
"All these are families and friends who come together to volunteer and do this," he said.
"Part of Thaipusam is the many booths which distribute drinks and food to the devotees and participants who journey from one temple to the other."
"It's an amazing service where people come together and do this."
