The male driver of a Porsche died after he was found inside the burnt remains of the car following an accident on the Nicoll Highway on Mar 2.

Stompers Jane and Grace shared with Stomp circulated videos of the dark blue Porsche that had burst into flames before the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) entrance.

In videos posted on Facebook, the Porsche was seen apparently speeding in the rightmost lane along Nicoll Highway before flipping on its side and skidding at speed, colliding with several vehicles merging to enter the KPE.

The luxury car then bursts into flames.

The police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Stomp they were alerted to the accident at about 2.10pm.

The accident involved five cars, and the driver was reported to be trapped inside the Porsche. His age could not be immediately established.

SCDF extinguished the fire with a water jet, and the male driver was found inside the burnt car and pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic.

Seven people from other vehicles were assessed by the SCDF and two men, aged 53 and 66, were taken conscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

SCDF is investigating the cause of the fire and police investigations are ongoing.
