Video captures incredible moment when lightning strikes tree at Sim Lim Tower carpark

Rare footage showing the exact moment when lightning struck a tree at Sim Lim Tower carpark was posted online by Facebook user Zizi Fahrol.
The video was posted on Nov 18 and has since been viewed over 172,000 times.
In the video, there was a flash of light before wood splinters and leaves were seen scattered all over the carpark.
Fahrol, 30, told The Straits Times that smoke was seen emitting from the tree afterwards.
The footage was captured by his van's rear in-car camera.
