TP officer chases Suzuki Swift driver on foot: Driver arrested for traffic and suspected drug-related offences
A driver who tried to flee the scene after being involved in a four-vehicle accident along the Central Expressway (CTE) exit towards Jalan Kebun Limau on June 6 has been arrested by the Police.
In an earlier report, Stompers had shared photos of the accident's aftermath and damaged vehicles.
A video posted online also shows the Suzuki Swift driver being chased on foot by a Traffic Police officer.
In response to media queries by Stomp, the Police said that the 26-year-old driver was arrested for traffic-related and suspected drug-related offences.
Said a Police spokesperson:
"On 6 June 2017 at about 5.31pm, Traffic Police came across a vehicle being driven dangerously along CTE Slip Road.
"The 26-year-old male driver refused to comply with the officer’s instruction and sped off. In the ensuing pursuit, an accident involving the male driver’s car, a lorry, another car and a Police vehicle occurred along CTE exit towards Jalan Kebun Limau.
"The 26-year-old man was subsequently arrested for traffic-related and suspected drug-related offences. Police investigations are ongoing."
