Abandoned bicycles that have been occupying the designated parking space at Block 421 Bukit Batok West Avenue 2 will soon be removed.

This comes after Stomper Rahman said he has no space to park his own ride.

He shared photos of the void deck and explained: "The parking space has been occupied by abandoned bicycles without bicycle seats and with punctured tyres and rusty chains for some time.

"Even though the town council put up a notice on the wall informing owners to remove their unused bicycles, the situation persists.

"Where can we park our bicycles? If we park them along our corridor, we are told it's not allowed because it's a fire hazard."

Rahman called for the authorities to take action.

A spokesperson for Jurong-Clementi-Bukit Batok Town Council told Stomp on Sept 5 that it has initiated an estate-wide bicycle removal exercise, including at Block 421.

"As part of this process, all suspected derelict or unused bicycles will be tagged, and those left unclaimed after the stipulated period will be removed," the spokesperson added.

"This initiative aims to ensure sufficient parking space for active users and to enhance the overall cleanliness and safety of the estate."
