A man got up close and personal with an iguana measuring almost two metres long in Jurong.

Stomper Gordon said he spotted the magnificent creature by a canal near 10 Sunview Drive on May 29, at around 3.19pm.

Gordon, who had been attending a data centre meeting in the area, recounted: "The iguana was almost two metres long from head to tail. I'm not sure of the species but I was excited to spot it.

"I came very close to its face and it seemed like it was used to meeting humans.

"There was also quite a big monitor lizard in the canal, but it's common to see them."

Gordon shared a video that he recorded with his Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus, in which he can be seen going closer and closer to the iguana.

If his proximity to the reptile makes you nervous, you are not alone: the animal appears to be backing away from the camera.
