Thief forgoes $300 shoes, takes $20 Nike slides from outside Yishun flat -- and smells them
A thief was caught on camera taking footwear from the shoe cabinet outside a Yishun Avenue 11 flat on Aug 16.
Stomper Jannah shared CCTV footage of the crime that took place at 12.38am.
"The guy stole my Nike slides and smelled them," said the Stomper.
In the video, the individual can be seen checking out the shoe cabinet before picking up the slides and walking off with them.
As he turned away from the camera, it looked like he lifted the footwear to his nose and sniffed them.
"Honestly, I felt scared when watching the clip from my phone after I woke up the next day," said the Stomper.
"Luckily, he stole the $20 slides. In front of him were my Skechers and $300 Mizuno football shoes!"
She added she has made a police report.
"My number one concern is, now delivery guys sometimes do their deliveries in the middle of the night. What if they stole my orders? I've had my orders come at 4am before," explained the Stomper.
She asked: "These young people really have no parents looking for them at midnight?"
