Student, 18, seen throwing drugs out of window before CNB officers break into home to arrest him
An 18-year-old student was spotted throwing something out of the kitchen window before Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers broke into the home to arrest him.
In the raid at Bukit Batok Street 52 on Jan 7, officers used force to enter the residential unit as the suspect refused to heed the orders of the officers to be granted access into the home.
After he was arrested, he was escorted to the ground floor where officers recovered a plastic packet containing about 500g of ketamine.
In a follow-up operation, CNB arrested another suspected drug trafficker, a 34-year-old man, at Segar Road.
He was escorted to his Bangkit Road residence where a search led to the recovery of about 19g of ketamine and 6g of Ecstasy. Officers also recovered about 100g of ketamine from behind a trolley placed outside the home. A search of the man's car yielded about 97g of Ecstasy and 24g of ketamine.
The two were among 116 suspected drug offenders arrested by CNB in an anti-drug operation from Jan 6 to 16 island-wide including Ang Mo Kio, Bedok Reservoir, Bukit Batok, Bishan, Geylang, Havelock, MacPherson, Redhill and Tampines.
The total amount of drugs seized have an estimated street value of more than $550,000. The youngest arrested was a 14-year-old student for drug abuse.
On Jan 14, CNB officers raided a Circuit Road residence where a 60-year-old man was arrested for drug trafficking and about 536g of heroin and cash amounting to $40,466.20 was found.

A day later, four suspected drug traffickers were arrested in CNB raid of a hotel room at Geylang Lorong 4.
The four suspects were a 31-year-old woman and three men, aged 31 to 43. All were Singaporeans except for the 43-year-old man, who was stateless.
A search of the room led to the recovery of about 2,047g of heroin, 1,081g of Ice, 158g of cannabis, 98g of Ecstasy, 339 Erimin-5 tablets, three bottles of methadone and $21,446.40 in cash. A karambit knife was also found.
CNB officers escorted the stateless man to his car parked in the vicinity and a search of the vehicle led to the recovery of about 130g of heroin and 26g of Ice.
Also found was a range of other scheduled and offensive weapons, which were seized and handed over to the police for investigation.

In a follow-up operation, CNB arrested two other Singaporean men, both 29, who were suspected drug abusers. One was nabbed at Balestier Road with about 16g of Ice on him. The other was arrested at Lengkok Bahru with about 8g of Ice and 5g of cannabis on him.
Investigations into all arrested suspects are ongoing.
