Stomper worries for young boy spotted vaping behind van in Canberra carpark
A young boy was spotted vaping behind a van in a Canberra carpark on Aug 2.
Stomper S shared photos of the boy holding an e-cigarette sitting with another boy who was looking at his phone.
The Stomper said: "I don't want their future to be spoilt. I'm worried their parents don't know. I think of them as my own children."
Under current laws, possessing, using or buying vapes carries a maximum fine of $2,000.
Anyone who distributes, imports or sells vapes and their components can be jailed for up to six months and fined up to $10,000.
Between Aug 18 and 22, the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority conducted a five-day operation of enhanced checks on travellers and vehicles across the air, land and sea checkpoints.
More than 850 e-vaporisers and its related components seized.
