Stomper wonders why car not keeping to lane on Neil Road -- then sees driver holding vape and phone
A driver was allegedly caught vaping at the wheel.
Stomper Reporter said he witnessed the incident along Neil Road on July 29, at around 6pm.
He recounted: "I was driving when I saw this red car not keeping to its lane.
"When we both stopped at the cross junction's red light, I turned my head and happened to see the driver vaping. Since my car was not moving, I took out my phone to snap these pictures."
The photos show the driver using his phone with his left hand while holding a vape in his right hand.
The Stomper shared the incident with various social media pages and also reported it to the Health Sciences Authority (HSA).
"I just don't understand why such people have no issue vaping openly," Reporter added. "Even though it's inside his car, anyone passing by can still see him."
According to Reporter, the driver appeared oblivious: "I'm not sure if he knew I was taking pictures of him, but I did not even bother to hide my phone.
"It's all over the news that the government is coming down hard on vapes, but they just don't give a dang."
The purchase, possession and use of imitation tobacco products, which include e-vaporisers, is prohibited. Anyone convicted of the possession, use and purchase of e-vaporisers is liable to a fine of up to $2,000.
Stomp has contacted HSA for more info.
