A Mercedes-Benz driver's unusual parking manoeuvre left other road users frustrated after he left his car a full metre away from the kerb at Springside Walk on July 25.

According to a Stomper, the act caused a 'traffic jam and obstruction' in Upper Thomson at about 9am.

"The problem was that the car was parked one metre away from the kerb," he said, sharing photos of a tape measure placed on the road.

If you are wondering why the Stomper just so happened to have a tape measure on him, he works as a handyman.

Drivers are generally advised to be within 30cm of the kerb when parallel parking.

"It is inconsiderate and senseless behaviour," the Stomper said about the driver's poor parking skills.

"To be honest, this is the first time I've seen someone park one metre away from the kerb.

"Parking a little off alignment is normal but this car backed up traffic and caused a jam."
