Stomper annoyed at senior pickleball players for blocking public pathway with court nets
A group of senior citizens playing pickleball at a public badminton court in Ang Mo Kio drew the ire of other residents in the area on Nov 8 at about 3pm.
A Stomper shared that the players had set up nets that blocked a pathway adjacent to the court, causing inconvenience to pedestrians.
The court is between Blocks 423 and 424 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3.
The Stomper, who was on her way home, expressed frustration at the situation: "It was shocking to see their netting block the public from crossing the badminton court.
"This is a public space, and they don't have the right to restrict access like that."
Pickleball, a fast-growing sport popular among seniors, is often played on badminton or basketball courts due to its relatively small playing area.
However, the makeshift setup in this case appears to be inconsiderate to residents who need to use the pathway.
"It's annoying and inconsiderate to block a public area meant for everyone," the Stomper said.
