S'pore is cleanest country in the world? Not always

Singapore has a reputation for being one of the cleanest countries in the world.

Though people probably would not think so if they came across the same sight as Stomper May.

May spotted a heap of rubbish of litter lying on the ground at Pagoda Street in Chinatown, a prime tourist attraction, which she says is a common occurrence.

She sent in photos showing empty cups and bottles, half-finished drinks, plastic bags and paper in a pile on the floor.

"I would like to address the issue of cleanliness at Pagoda Street, which I pass by every day as I am working nearby.

"Rubbish is always lying around and seen everywhere, from day to night. Nobody seems to clear it.

"How is Singapore one of the cleanest countries in the world?"
