SMRT reports incident of man vaping on train to police
Transport operator SMRT has reported an incident involving a commuter vaping on a train to the police.
A video posted on Facebook alleged that the man had 'popped some pills' and was 'vaping openly' on the train.
In the video, the dazed-looking man can be seen leaning against train doors and vaping. He appears unsteady on his feat, loses his balance and nearly falls when the train doors open.
It is unclear when and where exactly the incident occurred.
Mr Lam Sheau Kai, president of SMRT Trains, told Stomp in response to queries: "SMRT is aware of a video circulating on social media that shows a male commuter vaping on a train.
"We have reported the incident to the police.
"We take this illegal behaviour very seriously and strongly encourage commuters who encounter similar situations to report them immediately to our staff."
Commuters who spot similar acts are advised to report them to the Health Sciences Authority (HSA)'s Tobacco Regulation Branch at 6684 2036 or 6684 2037.
