Smell of smoke and charcoal as fire breaks out in TCM clinic at Hillion Mall
A fire broke out at Hillion Mall in Bukit Panjang on Nov 2.
Stomper Raven alerted Stomp to the incident.
He happened to be passing by when he noticed two fire trucks at a Red Rhino light firefighting vehicle outside the mall at about 10.38pm.
"All the shops were closed and the officers cordoned off the area leading to the second floor," he said.
"I could smell something like charcoal on a barbecue coming from the mall's upper floors."
A cleaner subsequently informed him that the fire broke out in a traditional Chinese medicine clinic on the second floor.
He added that all the firefighting vehicles left by 11.20pm.
In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to a fire in a second-floor unit at 17 Petir Road at about 10.25pm.
"The fire involved combustible materials contained in a metal bowl," an SCDF spokesperson said.
"SCDF conducted forcible entry into the unit and extinguished the fire using a hose reel."
There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
