Slip and fall leaves Kallang resident in pain -- but his neighbour's response makes it worse
Welcome to Stomping Ground - a space where Stompers share reflections, personal essays and social commentaries that spark conversation and insight.
A man who slipped and fell outside his Kallang unit was left not just in pain, but stunned by his neighbours' harsh response when he sought their help.
Stomper Lin shared with Stomp that he had returned home after buying food for lunch when he stepped into the puddle.
"When I returned, I slipped and fell because there was water on the floor, which my neighbour had spilt," he said.
"At first, I didn't feel much pain, but at about 4pm, I started experiencing a severe pain in my foot, to the point where I couldn't walk."
Alone at home and without any first aid supplies, Mr Lin decided to speak to his neighbours.
"I approached them politely, but instead of understanding the situation, they accused me of being a scammer and told me to 滚 (get lost), even calling me an 'a******'," he said.
"This is not the first time they have spilt water on the floor.
"What if I wasn't the one who fell but an elderly person?
"That would be much worse.
"I felt really sad and disappointed by their reaction and I wanted to share this experience."
