A Scoot passenger travelling from Bangkok to Singapore shared his frustration after experiencing an almost three-hour delay.

Stomper Julian shared with Stomp that Scoot flight TR607, originally scheduled to depart Suvarnabhumi Airport on Jan 24 at 11.59am was first delayed to 2.20pm.

"I asked a male ground staff who was most unhelpful with a sneer on his face," he said.

"Another lady was more forthcoming with the reason for the delay being a change of aircraft due to a technical fault."

He added that there was congestion on the runway, making the wait closer to three hours.

Julian also voiced concerns about the frequent delays he has experienced lately.

"I have given feedback that these delays have become the norm, which was not the case before Covid-19," he said.

"I also went to the SATS counter to complain about the long time taken for luggage to be transferred from the plane to the carousel. They said they were short-handed.

"It seems that they are managing costs instead of service quality as they are recovering from the pandemic.

"However, I have fewer issues with overseas airports, especially in China and Hong Kong.

"Even Bangkok is faster."

In response to a Stomp query, Scoot said that flight TR607 was originally scheduled to depart Bangkok for Singapore at 11.50am on Jan 24 but was retimed to depart at 2.20pm due to the late arrival of the incoming flight, TR606 from Singapore.

"TR606 had detected a technical fault prior to its scheduled departure at 9.20am on Jan 24," said a Scoot spokesperson.

"As a replacement aircraft had to be deployed, TR606 subsequently departed Singapore for Bangkok at 11.57am.

"Affected customers were provided with refreshments.

"Scoot sincerely apologises for the disruption and inconvenience caused.

"The safety of our customers and crew is our top priority, and we will continue to provide assistance to the affected customers where necessary."
