Rider panics after getting stopped by Traffic Police -- but it's not what he thinks
A motorcyclist's initial panic after being stopped by the Traffic Police (TP) quickly turned into surprise.
A Stomper alerted Stomp to a video shared by Instagram user @wesmybike on Aug 9.
In the clip, the rider can be heard talking to himself anxiously after being asked to pull over: "What do I do ah, what do I do? Am I cooked?"
An officer later tells him: "I'll do the basic screening first and I'll tell you why I stopped you."
It turned out the reason had nothing to do with a violation.
Instead, the officer told him he had noticed his proper riding attire and wanted to commend him.
"A small token from us for you being safe," the officer says, before presenting the rider with a purple goody bag containing gloves, a raincoat and a bandana.
Another officer also compliments the man's motorcycle, saying: "Nice bike."
The interaction ended on a friendly note, with selfies and photos taken together.
According to the Use Your RoadSense Facebook page, which is run by the TP, the initiative is part of the Reward the Sensible Motorist 2025 programme.
On Aug 8, the TP congratulated motorcyclists and motorists spotted in early August 2025 for their exemplary road behaviour and proper riding attire.
"Before you hit the road, gear up with the proper riding attire - approved helmet with clear visor, riding gloves, covered shoes, and protective wear," the post read.
"It's not just about safety; it's about showing responsibility. Whether you're riding or driving, practise good road habits like staying alert, being courteous, and following traffic rules. Together, we can make our roads safer for everyone."
