Residents let flyers drop from letterboxes in AMK void deck and don't dispose of them properly, irking Stomper
An Ang Mo Kio resident wants something done about the mess of flyers in the letterbox area of his block.
Stomper William shared a photo of flyers partially inserted into the letterboxes and on the floor of the void deck Block 346 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 on June 4.
"These pamphlets and flyers 'forced' into the gaps of the letterboxes have started to be unsightly as residents will not dispose of them correctly but choose to let them drop to the ground without hesitation," grumbled the Stomper.
"Either take action against those residents that litter the area or stop the agents from trying to force the flyers into the letterboxes and leave them dangling.
"Who should be the appropriate authority to do the enforcement?
"The town council is not proactive as after reporting to them, they will just take it lightly by telling us they would follow up when in fact nothing is done."
In response to a Stomp query, a Ang Mo Kio Town Council spokesperson said the town council did not receive any feedback regarding the littering of flyers and the practice of flyers being inserted into the letterboxes at the block.
The spokesperson added: "Our conservancy team carries out routine cleaning of the common areas, which includes the removal of discarded flyers and litter found around letterboxes, void decks, staircases, and lift lobbies.
"We will remind our cleaning team to continue monitoring the area closely and step up cleaning efforts where necessary.
"We would like to take this opportunity to remind residents to play their part by disposing of unwanted materials or items responsibly in the rubbish bins provided."
