High-rise littering at Block 775 Woodlands Crescent appears to have stopped after a Stomp report shed light on the situation, prompting authorities to take action.

In a report last month, Stomper Anonymous said rubbish would be thrown down the block daily, attracting pests such as pigeons and rodents.

"For months now, I have been diligently documenting instances of littering originating from the higher level of the block," the Stomper added.

In response to a Stomp query, Sembawang Town Council said it took action such as distributing educational notices upon receiving the feedback.

A spokesperson shared: "In addition, we have placed similar notices in the lift lobbies of every level and put up banners and standees at the ground level to raise awareness about the issue."

The case was also referred to the National Environment Agency (NEA), which installed CCTV cameras for surveillance.

Anonymous confirmed this on June 15 and shared a photo of a newly-installed camera opposite his block.

Asked if the situation has improved, he told Stomp: "Definitely. It has been so clean for weeks.

"Thank you Stomp for posting the story."
