A woman is appealing for help in locating a rescue dog named Lotus, which was last seen at Sri Mariamman Temple at 244 South Bridge Road.

According to Stomper Sharrel, the Singapore Special dog was last seen at about 3pm on June 22.

Lotus is six years old, has cream-brown fur, and weighs about 15.6 kg. She was wearing a collar and a bandanna when she went missing.

Sharrel told Stomp: "Lotus was at an adoption drive in Clarke Quay when she got into a small scuffle with another dog, broke free from her harness and ran off.

"She took off toward Fort Canning with volunteers trying to keep up with her, but they lost sight of her.

"A couple of hours later, a couple informed us that they saw Lotus being hit, seemingly by a vehicle outside the temple, but she got up and ran again.

"Volunteers on the ground rushed over, however she was not to be found. The search continues on till today."

The Stomper, who volunteers for the dog shelter Save Our Street Dogs, helped rescue Lotus in March 2022.

She wrote in to Stomp on behalf of Lotus' adoptive family, and sent Stomp additional photos and videos of the dog.

"Lotus was from a fishfarm and surrendered to the National Parks Boards' Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS)," Sharrel shared.

"AVS trapped, neutered and released her at Lim Chu Kang, and she swam to a nearby farm, which called us to rescue her."

"She hasn't had her best life yet, and I hope she returns safely to enjoy her years growing old safe and happy in her home."
