RedMart staff give Standard Chartered Marathon runners a boost -- with 66,000 bananas

Participants of the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore had their day significantly perked up, thanks to RedMart staff who gave out free bananas.

Stomper Amanda, who is part of RedMart, shared how they had a banana station yesterday (Dec 4). They were there from over four hours, starting from 6am.

The RedMart team also cheered marathoners on with encouraging messages.

According to Amanda, all 66,000 bananas were given out.

The runners were greatly appreciative of RedMart's efforts, especially since bottled water had apparently run out at the event.

Other RedMart employees also separately took part in a 10km marathon, said Amanda.
