Red paint splashed on gate of Choa Chu Kang flat, 20-year-old youth arrested

A 20-year-old youth was arrested for loansharking activities after red paint was splashed on the gate of a Choa Chu Kang flat.
Writing in black ink was found on the wall outside the flat at Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3.
The police were alerted to the case on Oct 22.
With the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the youth and arrested him the next day.
He was to be charged in court on Oct 25 under the Moneylenders Act.
For first-time offenders, the offence of loanshark harassment carries a fine between $5,000 and $50,000, imprisonment of up to five years and caning of up to six strokes.
