Police called after clash at East Coast Park: 1 woman taken to hospital, 3 assisting with investigations
A woman was taken to hospital after a dispute with a group at East Coast Park on Aug 17.
Stomper Art and Anonymous alerted Stomp to videos circulating online of the incident.
In the clips, several women are seen taunting a woman in a white top while shouting vulgarities at her. They are also heard laughing and asking if the man with her is her employer, before one of them snatches her phone.
The woman can be heard repeatedly shouting: "Give me back my phone!"
In another video, the man recording the scene is heard saying: "This is too much. Please return the phone."
The woman who had taken the phone then tells him she can call her "boss" to contact the police. She claims she was upset because the man and woman had allegedly taken videos of her.
The Stompers were made aware of the incident after some members of the group livestreamed the incident on TikTok, including when police officers arrived at the scene.
In the livestream, they are heard telling an officer that about 20 people had gathered for a barbecue and that most of them work as foreign domestic helpers.
In response to a Stomp query, police confirmed they received a call for assistance at about 7.40pm.
"A 39-year-old woman was conveyed conscious to the hospital," a police spokesperson said.
"The 39-year-old woman and two other women, aged 45 and 51, are assisting with investigations into a case of voluntarily causing hurt."
Police investigations are ongoing.
