Plastic pieces may break off from grinder mechanism in recalled Cape Herb & Spice products: Supplier
The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) is recalling various Cape Herb & Spice products due to the possible presence of plastic pieces.
QB Food Trading had informed SFA of the voluntary recall of the products by its supplier in South Africa.
The supplier had said on its website: "We are aware of a quality concern affecting some of our large grinders that were produced from September 2023 to May 2024.
"The issue involves a potential defect in the mechanism of the grinders which may result in plastic pieces breaking off and being released during use. No other grinder products are affected by this issue.
"To ensure consumer confidence in the quality of our products, we have extended the withdrawal of these products to a public recall in all territories where the affected grinders were sold."
The Cape Town-based company said the affected products are:
- Black Pepper 185g
- Sea Salt 360g
